穏やかな音風景 『In The We Small Hours / Carlos Franzetti 』

アルゼンチン生まれ、ジャズ、クラシック、映画音楽、ラテンと、多方面にわたって活躍するピアニスト、コンポーザー、アレンジャーのカルロス･フランツェティ。
今回は、ピアノ・トリオでアコースティック・ジャズに回帰した作品。
メンバーは、ベースのデヴィッド・フィンク、ドラマのビリー・ドラモンドといった名手によるスタンダード集。

オープナーは、「In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning」、ちょっと寂しい恋の歌だけど、、穏やかで優しい響き。フィンクの音色もドラモンドのブラシもとっても優しい。

ゆったりと、情感こめて「Memories of You」。「How Deep is the Ocean」の優雅な中に３人の息のあったやりとり。

歌心いっぱいの「How Long Has This Been Goin’ on」。ダンディに弾んで「Put on a Happy Face」。

「Time Remembered」、気を衒わず気高く美しく。情景が浮かび上がるような「I’ll Be Seeing You」。

情熱的に盛り上がる「Alone Together」。

ここから、３曲、「How Deep is the Ocean」、「In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning」、「Memories of You」と別テイクが続きます。

最後は、パートナーのアリソン・ブリュースター・フランゼッティがチェレステ、彼はフェンダー・ローズを弾いている「Piccola Musica Nocturna」、オーケストラがかぶさった夢ヴァージョン。

超有名なナンバーを奇をてらうことなく、気高く美しく届けてくれます。

アコースティック・ジャズに拘ったジェントリーな作品。
